Welcome from Headteacher

We believe every child deserves to be seen, celebrated and to feel that they truly belong. Our moral purpose is clear: to prepare children and young people for adulthood and a life of choice and opportunity.

As Headteacher, I am incredibly proud of our caring, ambitious and inclusive community, where pupils are supported to feel safe, valued and confident as they grow, learn and develop.

We provide a broad and engaging curriculum for pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Our curriculum supports academic achievement while also developing social skills, independence and resilience. Our pupil-centred approach is built on recognising strengths, removing barriers to learning and nurturing aspiration, so that every pupil can experience success.

Our Pencalenick School community supports  200 primary and secondary-aged pupils and delivers specialist provision at our main Pencalenick School site and four Area Resource Bases (ARBs) located at Falmouth, Mount Charles, Brannel and Bude. The ARBs form an integral part of the school and are overseen by Pencalenick School staff. In partnership with mainstream schools, they provide high-quality, inclusive specialist provision for pupils with complex or additional learning needs, supporting inclusion, confidence and positive engagement within local communities.

Pencalenick School is proud to be part of the Special Partnership Trust, working collaboratively with other specialist schools to share expertise, strengthen inclusive practice and improve outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs.

Our dedicated and highly skilled staff team work closely with pupils and families to ensure learning is meaningful, purposeful and carefully tailored to individual needs.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. If you would like to find out more about our school or arrange a visit, please do not hesitate to get in touch — we would be delighted to welcome you.
